About Nyhus Law Firm
At Nyhus Law Firm, our attorneys’ practice focuses on a variety of legal areas that aid businesses and individuals here in North Dakota. We handle matters involving real estate, corporate, business and commercial law, litigation, estate planning and municipal law. We have experience and academic credentials in business, financial planning, and as an assistant state attorney.
Chris’ practice focuses on real estate, corporate, business and commercial law, litigation, estate planning and municipal law. Chris also serves in a fiduciary capacity when businesses fall into receivership and has been hired to run several businesses in receivership over the course of his practice.
He opened Nyhus Law Firm in 2014 with the goal of providing high-quality legal services with personal attention to his clients in central and western North Dakota. Currently the firm has a main office in downtown Bismarck, and a staffed branch office in Harvey. He has practiced law for 15 years. His first two years of practice were spent as an Assistant Morton County State’s Attorney, gaining valuable courtroom experience. He transitioned to private practice in 2008 with a firm where he learned from experienced private practice attorneys, most of whom have since retired.
Chris graduated from Hamline University School of Law in 2006 with a concentration in commercial law. He received his bachelor’s degree from Jamestown College in 2002 with majors in business administration and history/political science.
Chris taught business law at area universities over the past ten years, and has been a member of many professional associations and committees throughout his practice. Recently, you are more likely to find him coaching little league baseball or softball, attending piano and choir recitals, and enjoying his three growing children as they pursue their own interests. When he gets free time he’s usually fishing, hunting, or camping somewhere out of cell-phone coverage on the plains of North Dakota, or the western mountain states. His other interests include singing, playing guitar, volunteering at church, learning to fly, and spending time with his wife, Michelle, and their three growing children and their extended families and friends.
